Ania Brzezinska - trumpet, cuica
Trumpetist, multi-instrumentalist. In 2011 graduated from Conservatory of Amsterdam with bachelor degree in jazz performance.
Till 2013 studied Indian Carnatic Music in Amsterdam, at “Contemporary Music through Non-Western Techniques” courses.
After her studies she has done different projects in Mexico and currently is active in Europe.
“Through Adrienne van Melle-Hermans - a passionate peace activist, whose life was taken by cancer - I learned how precious is every little moment in life and the people around us, how to appreciate the smallest things that happen in our everyday life and how important it is to stay true to our nature and feelings. “ All those values I try to express when I play, and I hope to touch people hearts with my music and that energy. I feel great gratitude that I have the chance in life to experience making music and how can it influence all my life ” says Ania..
Joris Cohen - hang player
Cohen is a self-taught musician who has researched several instrument before finding the Hang in 2013 . His fascination with the instrument made him rapidly progress and during this time he started busking all around the World. And began to share his music with the World. He took part of several musical projects and delivered solo perfomances in Europa. In 2015 Joris Cohen became part of Bandgladesh. Since than he performed more and more around in the Nederlands and Europe.
Javier Murugarren - hang player, choreographer
He is a multidisciplinary artist working
with choreographic experimentation;
connecting movement practices with textiles,
sound and language. Graduated from
Amsterdam‘s School for New Dance
Development (SNDO). During the last 10
years Javier has shown his work and guided
workshops in Europe, Asia, Australia and USA.
Hassie Dune - N'goni, percussion, voice
Has studied Drums on the Royal Conservatoire Amsterdam and Rotterdam (1987-1991). During the nineties a study Cultural Anthropology broadend his ideas about music, and the social, cultural and medicinal functions of it in various society's (University of Amsterdam). After finishing a fieldwork (research) period in Guinee (West Africa), some intense years of international touring followed (Europa, US, Africa, Syria, Jordania, Tunis, India), playing bass guitar and al kinds of African instruments in different style groups and projects such as; Zuco 103 (brasilectro), Tarhana (soefi beats & anatolien melodies), Sinas (global dancefloor funk), Nusodia (Burkina Faso music), In the last years, a great interest in the healing possibilties of Sound Frequency, has come to the foreground. Music/Sound as a tool, that possitively influence's a better streaming of Chi (life energy) within the body's and minds of the ones who play and listen.
At this moment, inter-national concerts are played with Couple Positive, Bandgladesh, Nusodia and The Elements. In these shows, the "Electro" N'goni (West African Harp) is Hassie's main instrument. A "colourful" palette of Tones, Notes and Soundscapes, are at hand with the use of diverse Electronics (Effects, Loops & Samples).
